Lead Abatement

Lead Abatement

Lead abatement is the process of removing lead-based paint from surfaces in a building. Lead abatement is required by law in many states, and is often performed by certified contractors.

Why SAS?

Focus. Reliability.
Hard Work.

Trusted by the worlds best companies and are used worldwide in offshore and onshore settings across a range of industries.

Two phases

Lead abatement consists of two phases: surface preparation and removal of the lead-based paint.

Surface prep

In the surface preparation phase, all loose paint chips must be removed from walls and ceilings before any attempt is made to remove the remaining paint.

Removal

The remaining paint must then be removed using one of three methods: wet scraping, dry sanding, or heat gun application. The type of method used depends on the amount of remaining lead-based paint and its condition.
